The “Comforts of Home” Holiday Contest!
Fri, Nov 16, 2007
***The Comforts of Home Holiday Contest is now closed. Thanks to everyone for participating! If you’re chosen as a winner you will receive an email notification from us in the next two weeks.***
To celebrate the 8th anniversary of AppliancePartsPros.com we are running a blog contest! The prizes are great: one of three Apple iPhone® or Kitchen Aid Artisan Series® Stand Mixers. The winners get to choose which they would prefer to receive!
Entering the contest is easy, and if you have a blog you not only get a chance to win one of our great prizes, but your post also helps build items in the “Comforts of Home” packages for US soldiers serving overseas in Iraq or Afghanistan. Each blog post adds one item to the care package! In addition to the 80 packages we’ve already sent to the men and women of Alpha Co. 3/69 AR and 2ND PLT, A BTRY 1-9 FA in Iraq and 1-508th PIR 82nd ABN DIV in Afghanistan; we will send additional packages built from this contest to US soldiers serving overseas in mid-December.
Simply blog about a holiday cooking horror story you experienced or post a personal text, audio, or video message for the troops and then send us an email at contest@appliancepartspros.com with the link. Once the post is confirmed, your email address will be entered in the contest (one entry per email address). If you don’t have a blog, subscribe to ApplianceJournal.com or The Repair Blog via email and receive one entry in the contest. For all email subscriptions, AppliancePartsPros.com reserves the right to email the individual to request confirmation prior to accepting into the drawing.
At the end of the contest we will compile all of the messages to the troops on our Repair Blog and send a copy of the links along with the care packages!
The contest runs from November 16 to December 17, 2007. The winners will be drawn randomly on December 20, 2007 at approx. 1pm PST in Van Nuys, CA. They will be notified by email to determine their prize choice and collect the necessary information for prize delivery and personal contact confirmation. One entry per valid email address or blog; Continental USA residents only. Appliance Parts Pros reserves the right to disqualify any posts that are considered off-topic, contains threats, inappropriate language or content.
Items in the “Comforts of Home” care packages include:
- 300-minute Military Exchange Calling Card
- Writing materials
- Protein-rich snacks
- Personal hygiene items
- 2 current magazines
- A note with a link to all of the messages of support received
5 individual blog posts send 1 additional care package to a soldier!

The holidays are a wonderful time to reconnect with friends and family, but they can also be needlessly stressful due to unidentified problems with the oven; from incorrect temperatures, to uneven cooking. This does not need to be the case with some easy preventative maintenance. Taking the time now can mean the difference between an expensive service call, and a wonderful holiday dinner. For expert tips, take a look at our previous post - Making holiday cooking worry-free: 5 tips to help your oven perform like new.
Good luck and happy holidays from all of us at AppliancePartsPros.com!

Wishing you and your families well this holiday season and remember that God has his hand on each and every one of you. God Bless ^A^ Return safely and you remain in all of our hearts and prayers. Love, Carolyn in Nutley, NJ. My father is turning 80 this month which is November and the 30th is the day to be exact. He served in the Army and fought in WWII, Korea and Vietnam (twice) so I know what it is like being part of the military life. His heart and prayers are with all of you and he definitely salutes you in honor of our great country. I also honor him and all of you for my freedom each day. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
