My new husband and I drove to a mall where we were supposed to catch a bus to go to the airport to go to Aruba. Well, we got to the mall, put our luggage in the belly of the bus - surprised at how light the others had packed - and boarded. We got suspicious when the driver headed up a lone Pennsylvania road and then up a very winding road. (We were on our way to the Philadelphia airport.) But we thought it was a special shortcut... When we got to our destination, we discovered we arrived - not at the Philadelphia airport but at the Boscov's annual picnic (Boscov's was the store from the mall where our bus departed)... Okay, I'm a new bride and after everyone departed to the picnic, I cried and the busdriver was quite sympathetic... He contacted his boss, who contacted the local police, who contacted a friend of my husband's (who lived fairly closeby) who got us to the airport - just in time for our flight... Please remember this was long before cell phones... So, after the fact, I heard that Mr. Boscov (owner of the dept store chain where we booked our honeymoon package from) announced at the annual picnic, that the picnic was so popular that a honeymoon couple signed up to come...
